GARLAND A. OSBORNE, 33°


Garland Alpha Osborne was born in Seminole, Oklahoma to the union of Collie D. and Lila G. Osborne. He has seven brothers and sisters, one who is deceased. The Osborne family migrated to Denver , Colorado in the early 1940's where he attended the Denver Public Schools graduating from Manual

High School in 1958. He continued his education at Adams State College and received a Bachelors of Arts

Degree in Physical Education (1962) and a Masters of Arts in Special Education (1972). He, also, attended the

University of Northern Colorado receiving an endorsement in Education Administration and the University of

Colorado at Denver Graduate School .

He is married to the lovely Bobbie Ray Osborne and they have four adult children and three grandchildren. He and Bobbie are members of Peaceful Rest Baptist Church in Aurora , Colorado . They are blessed to have all of the children residing in Colorado with the exception of one, who has made her home in California .

Garland was employed by the Denver Public Schools and retired after serving 32 years. He served the district as teacher, coach, advisor and administrator. He also worked part-time with several private, community and governmental agencies. He has been actively involved in several community projects which include the YMCA, Red Shield, Young America Athletic teams and he enjoys athletic events, especially high school and college.

His Masonic travels include: a member and Past Master of Centennial Lodge #4; Past Illustrious Commander- in-Chief of Mountain and Plains Consistory #33; Past High Priest of Nathaniel Spencer Chapter #4, Holy Royal Arch Masons (HRAM), Most Excellent Grand High Priest (2002-2003); Past Eminent Commander of William B. S. Hams Commandry #3; Honorary Past Potentate of Syrian Temple #49; Past Worthy Patron of Evergreen Chapter #3, OES; Associate Patron of the Denver Amaranth Council.
