5. Areas of Achievement

As a member of the Colorado Springs Community Initiative, coordinated the writing and presentation of the Initiative's proposal for an Human Relations Board for the City of Colorado Springs before the City Council. As a member of the Legislative sub-committee, CASPA, presented proposal that effected the State Legislature on fingerprinting process of applicants of Colorado School Districts. Charter member of the Colorado Springs Black Chamber of Commerce. With three colleagues, founded the Colorado Springs Black Leader­ ship Forum. Who's Who in Southern Colorado Selectee; recipient of the Education Advisor Award, Pikes Peak Consistory #81; Selected as Past Master of Year, 1987 & 1990.

1991 graduate of Leadership Pikes Peak and a graduate of Center for Creative Leadership Community Leaders Course. 1998 recipient of the Martin L. King, Jr. Holiday Committee Community Service Award. Charter member of the Progressive Leaders Toastmasters Club #8525. Selected as Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Jim Sauls and his wife, Delores, are members of the Peoples United Methodist Church and have an adult daughter who resides in Leesburg, VA with her husband.
