Awards/Honors: One of the most decorated enlisted personnel in Aerospace Physiological Training career field. Retired as a Chief Master Sergeant, E-9 after twenty-nine years of service. First Black Chief Master Sergeant in his career field. During his military career, he was a member of the All Air Force basketball team 1960-1961; he also flew over 260 aerial combat missions in Southeast Asia from 1969 to 1972. Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, 33 rd degree Prince Hall Mason; Former Vice President of Tuskegee Airmen, Hubert L.”Hooks” Jones Chapter of Denver-Colorado Springs. Was a substitute teacher in Colorado Springs School Districts 11 and 20. My proudest moment? “Seeing the birth of my youngest son Trey.” Proudest Accomplishment? Being the first Black named the Most Valuable Player in a 1954 basketball tournament at Portsmouth , Virginia . I owe my success to my mother, Christina Waller, who will be 98 on December 25, 2009 .
